If you love delicious, fresh and super healthy food you should definitely pay Left Field a visit. Every dish is what we would call 'gram-able', because there is so much care and effort put into the presentation of the food. The head chef, Ryan Lording (follow him on Instagram @chefryan85 for some seriously delicious breakfast inspo) has a passion for making healthy food absolutely delicious. Their 'Sautéed Kale, Asparagus and Green Beans topped with two perfectly poached eggs, feta and dukkah is to die to for. And if you aren't quite into greens for breakfast there are plenty of other healthy options on the menu including their Cured Salmon Gravlax with smashed peas and Middle Eastern Cauliflower, Kale and Chickpea salad with a poached egg. Left Field is our go to cafe if we are around Carnegie/Caulfield.
We can never go past Barry's Raw Broccolini Salad. Think broccolini, kale, avo, chilli, coriander, basil, lentils, crunchy nuts/seeds and a soft boiled egg. It is super fresh and the nuts add texture and crunch. They also have a delicious Californian Superfood Salad which is packed with flavour and is of course extremely nourishing. More often than not there is a wait to eat here, so we always make the best use of our time and stock up on all our essential health food items at Terra Madre, it's just a few shops up from Barry.
Patch has a beautiful and fresh Breakfast Salad. It is the perfect combination of kale, pomegranate, avocado and poached egg (tip: add salmon for more protein.) There are also lots of other paleo healthy options on the menu such as the Chilli Scrambled Eggs or Smashed Avo on their famous homemade paleo loaf. Everything on the menu is super healthy and we love that you can't go wrong no matter what you order. They also do an amazing Golden Grind Late with almond, Bonsoy or coconut milk.
Serotonin Eatery is a beautiful cafe in Burnley, hidden just off of the freeway. It has been created around the idea that health and happiness is achievable for everyone through food, education and exercise. Their menu was created by their beautiful founder, Emily, with the idea that you shouldn't have to struggle to find a healthy choice on a menu. Every option is nourishing and tasty. Their Nutrition Bomb is our 'go to' order which is a big bowl of goodness full of alkalising greens, broccolis, sprouts, house made hummus, seeds, nuts and a poached egg.
A Thousand Blessings Cafe is known for it's refreshing, beautiful Acai Bowl... however we have just recently discovered it also has a beautiful greens dish. Their greens, The Summer Feast, consists of brussel sprouts, beans, kale, sugar snap peas, brocollini, salted ricotta, fanned avo, crunchy nuts and poached eggs. The addition of the salted ricotta takes the greens to a new level of deliciousness and if you still have some room in your tummy afterwards they have some beautiful healthy raw desserts on offer.
If you haven't tried Kitty Burns already we recommend you make the trip to their hidden cafe (right near Victoria Gardens) and try out some of their incredibly innovative menu items for your next brunch date. Kitty Burns have a delicious breakfast greens dish, The Kitty Greens, which is a combination of their house greens, seeds and grains. We love adding a poached egg to top it off as well. They also have the most unique avocado on toast dish we have ever eaten- definitely worth a try if you want something a little different to start your day.
Legacy is a little gem of a cafe tucked away just off Bourke road in Camberwell. They have a delicious Green Folded Eggs dish which is a incredibly substantial, nutritious omelette filled with peas and spinach on a farrow salad. It is super filling, packed with protein and a perfect healthy breakfast or lunch option. They also have a divine Pulled Lamb Salad, with greens and quinoa if you feel like more of a lunch option over a brekkie option.
As you guys would know from following us on Instagram- we absolutely love SOS cafe. They have a beautiful asian inspired Me So Green Salad which is made up of asian greens, crunchy nuts, quinoa, mushrooms, chilli and poached eggs with a miso dressing. We also love their Primal Plate which is packed with delicious veggies and topped with poached eggs or their Falafel 'Hipster' Salad.
This brand new kid on the block has already made it as one of our favourite cafes in Australia. The fit out is completely on trend and the menu cannot be faulted. They have a delicious Breakfast Salad packed with quinoa, kale, asparagus, haloumi, almonds and poached eggs. We also love their Grilled Salmon which is on a bed of basil zoodles with edamame and avocado. Absolutely divine! There are a number of other dishes on the menu that we cannot wait to try!
We love Walk Don't Run because they not only have a delightful Superfood Breakfast (packed with greens), but they also make their own nutrition packed 'Life Bread', full of seeds and nuts which they offer with most of the items on their menu. Their Super Food breakfast comes with kale, broccolini, spiced pumpkin, barley, green chilli ,pepitas, house-made life loaf and poached eggs. We also love their soups which are the perfect healthy and hearty way to warm your belly in the cooler weather!
